WHAT IS CHARISMATIC MOVEMENT –
MOVEMENT OF RENEWAL IN SPIRIT?
Catholic charismatic renewal or renewal in Spirit is one of church
movements which wants to contribute spiritual renewal inside Catholic Church.
The movement aims to make people aware of Holy Spirit being present and
active in our everyday life.
Modern charismatic movement started in Catholic Church in 1966 in North America. Being formed
spontaneously, it grew up with geometrical progression. Nowadays Catholic charismatic renewal has spread up to all continents in more than 200 countries with about 120 million members.
Charismatic experience means:
- attending seminars of spiritual charismatic renewal
- being informed about the effects of charismas
- experiencing the effects of charismas in their
- own life
- the wish to deepen the experience as well as to become aware of
some new charismatic experiences

The Pope Paul VI:
"... in this movement I see the wonder of Spirits because the
Holy Spirit blesses people and presents them with His charismas."
John Paul II:
"Charismatic renewal is the gift of Holy Spirit to Church."
